Street Art around São Paulo

Issues

So far, I had two big issues.
The first one was that I needed a box with precise measurements and height. I had the idea to ask my joiner to make one. However, he lives in Itatiba (interior of SP) and it would take a while to get it done. My mom and I went to a store that sells wooden items to paint and I found a box that looks more or less like this:

As it was not the way I wanted, I bought a cutting knife specially to cut this type of wood and reshaped the box to this structure:

I solved my problem in the best way possible and everything worked out just fine! I was very happy with that.

My second issue has been to find the transparent resin. I went to a store called "A Casa do Artista" (http://www.acasadoartista.com.br/) to see if they had it, and they didn't. I called another store called "Pintar" (http://pintar.com.br/) and they also didn't have it. I tried to call the store called "Avipol" (http://www.avipol.com.br/), which is the store where the resin from school is, but they did not answer me. I did send them an email I am looking forwards for them to answer me! I will see if I can go to their store, even though it is in the other side of São Paulo, or call them tomorrow as soon as possible.

Without the resin my work will not be the way I want. As I am determined, I know I will get this resin. How? I don't have an idea, but I will! Hahaha

Evaluation on the third lesson

In the third lesson I managed to bring my box all ready to start!
In order to have the box the way I wanted, I cut some parts and painted it all white. I then glued it the way I wanted and as a result, it stayed the way I wanted.
During the lesson, I did my collage (background) and painted a heart (which I will place in the Love compartment).
I also did an experiment to see if the pictures would blur once I put the resin. Fortunately, it didn't!
I am very happy with my work so far, even though I have to go all around town to get the materials I require in order to be exactly the way I want.

Evaluation on the second lesson

In my second lesson of Creative Arts I finally decided what I was going to do.
I decided to make a box and divide it into five parts, and in each part I will represent a different feeling.
The box will look roughly like this:

As you can see, the boxes will have the following themes: Secrets, Happiness, Memories, Sadness and Love.

For each of them I made a collage with some pictures as background, representing each theme. For an example, in Happiness, I put pictures of things that make me happy and that I enjoy doing nowadays.

I will not only do a simple collage, but I will also put some items related to each theme and put a layer of resin for the objects not to fall and stay intact forever. For an example, in Memories, I will put items that remind me of childhood, such as dolls, necklaces I used to make, etc.

I hope I can find everything I want to make it the way I picture in my mind!

MUTO

Absolutely amazing and admirable the art the BluBlu group did and does. The time spent and effort put into their work is shown by their final piece, the result. It is outstandind and sometimes disturbing. Eitherway, I loved it and shared in my facebook wall for all my friends to appreciate it too.

In pain

That is how I am feeling. Lost.
I don't know what to expect from people anymore.
I don't know what I am meant to feel or do anymore.
Sometimes who I thought was special let me down.
How can we predict the future?
Well, we can't.
This is why I am lost. And confused.
I hope this doesn't last long.
I am not the same with all this thoughts running through my head.
I can't think anymore.
I can't do things right.
If I could close my eyes and wait for this storm to pass,
I would.
Now I guess time will cure me.
What I most want right now is to be alone.
Think. Reflect. Find a way out.
For now,
I shall hope for the best but expect the worst.
I don't wish this feeling for my enemies,
I just want it to pass,
And never come back again.

Street Art

Today was my first art lesson. I was really excited because I've seen what the previous classes have been doing and I found it really interesting. Now I am glad I will have a chance to do it myself.
We are studying street art, and after a lot of discussion our class came to the conclusion that street art is legal arts, when you are allowed to do art in the streets in order to express your feelings or transmit a message.
Usually street art is very colourful, modern, urban and meaningful. Also, street art can be an urban intervention.

How I feel right now

Music Lessons

In the past few weeks, my tutor group (Mrs Esteves) had been having music lessons.

Personally, it was a great experience to learn how to play keyboard. I have always wanted to learn how to play keyboards or pianos, because I think that from all the instruments in the world, they are the most expressive and beautiful.

I found it quite challenging to play keyboard because it was the first time I had contact with it. I hope to play it more times and get better and better at it to the point I can play my favourite songs in it!

I wished I could tell this message and show this picture to the whole community of today.
We are all so worried about how our hair looks, how our face is, overall, we want to show perfection.
Commonly, the community is extremely worried with their bodies. Some extreme cases lead to anorexia and bulimia. Don't let this obsession with perfection hit you.
Well, the perfection is what's in the real you.
You are perfect, no matter what the society expects or thinks about you.
Do not change yourself. The people that want you happy and love you will accept you the way you are.
Basically, Weight does not define beauty.

I want to party!

Yes. My home city has a lot of traffic.
        It also has a lot of pollution.
        Some crimes are committed here.
        There isn't enough shelter for everyone.
But on the other hand,
        My city is like no other.
        The community is happy.
        We have freedom when possible.
        And most importantly, it makes the majority of the people happy.
I wouldn't leave São Paulo for any other city in the world!

Reflection on Theatre In Education

During our drama lesson this Wednesday (10/08/2011), we split ourselves into groups of two and we had to pick a kindergarten stories and give them a moral, a slogan and we had to interpret it the best way we could, and saying the slogan in the end of it. My pair was Nicholas Beeby, and our slogan was: "Be responsible for your things. Watch out for thieves."

I enjoyed getting to know a little bit about Theatre In Education, because it showed me how we can teach children how to be responsible, sensible, to save energy/water and much more though drama/acting. I did like when Ms Hurst gave us the opportunity to choose how we wanted to interpret our stories. However, I could not interpret the first two stories I got, so Nicholas Beeby and I changed it and we finally got the third card, which we though was reasonably easy to interpret.

I do work better when I am told what to do, such as the play of Fat Sam and his gang. On the other hand, a challenge is always welcome for me to see what I am capable of producing with my creativity

My first impression about the drama lesson

Once I saw Ms Hurst, the first thing I though to myself was: "Uau!" She's beautiful!"
Once I walked into her class I was like: "Okay, she will demand a lot from us!" - which I felt good about, because drama is a subject where we are supposed to work with body language, intonations and expressing ourselves.
My first impression was: "Okay, this year we will do real drama". I felt like last year the exercises and plays we were asked to do had nothing to do with drama, and this year I can see that it has changed, and I'm happy about it.
Drama is now on my list of best subject, because our lessons have been very active, fun to participate and Ms Hurst extremely humorous and she makes everyone around her laugh out loud. The exercises and little plays we've been working on have been superb. I'm lovin' it!

Hold my hand

I decided to post this picture because in one and a half hours from now I will see the boy I love. I hope he feels the same for me and I hope I can hold his hand, even if a storm surrounds us or if the best time of our lives come.

This song has very much to do with what my blog is all about. To express yourself and be whatever you want to be.

Personally, I think every person has the right to say their opinion, their thoughs. Every person has the right to do what they like, do what they can. This music is pretty much about it, and that's why it is special to me.

Ballet is not only a type of dance. For me, ballet is how I can express myself though body language.
It is not only pleasing to watch, it is also pleasing to practise.
I practise ballet 6 hours per week, and I would practise a little more if I could.
